Ethiopian public service & bureaucracy is known for its lengthy process, redundant and unclear requirements & cumbersome paperwork that has been a prime source of public grievance, to extent of Igniting socio political unrest. One of its manifestations is lack of clear information and knowledge among the public seeking certain legal and contractual services from the Government institutions.
I have personally spent my invaluable time on these organizations with no tangible outcome. Even for the cases I managed finalize, months were sacrificed. The problem was there is no organizational set up to guide you through the process , different people points you to different direction and my inability to properly know my rights.
However, those bottlenecks seem to have solution now, colinket.com. I don’t have to spent weeks trying to figure out where to go, what requirement to fulfill, how long will it take and etc. I can finalize those things while sitting in my office through the information and guidance I got from the website. The website provides basic information and service requirements from known government institutions and cuts you through the process and saves your time. So far , the website has done a remarkable job making available rules, regulations and procedures for any given public service. However, in the future it would be better if further practical analysis, short cuts, how to avoid bureaucratic jargons be provided for its users.
